IV Hydration Therapy FAQs

We’re here to answer all of your questions about IV hydration therapy. Don’t see your question listed? Just give us a call to chat with an RN!
What is IV hydration?
Intravenous (IV) Therapy is a safe and minimally invasive procedure that delivers vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly to the body for maximum absorption. This allows the nutrients to flood your body and nourish itself at the cellular level. By using this method, our licensed medical staff can administer larger doses that would not otherwise be tolerated orally.
How long does IV hydration take?
Our IV’s take anywhere from 30-60 minutes depending on the infusion. Our goal is to administer your infusion at a safe and comfortable rate within a relaxing environment. Your first appointment will take longer because our medical staff will go over your intake forms and discuss your wellness needs to ensure we are taking the very best care of you.
What are the benefits of IV therapy?
IV therapy provides various benefits depending on specific treatments. Our IV therapies help to relieve hangovers, boost energy, fight allergies, reduce the symptoms of cold and flu, relieve fatigue, combat jet lag, and alleviate the symptoms of dehydration.
Who can benefit from IV hydration therapy?
Anyone! It isn’t just people with deficiencies that can benefit from IV Therapy – it can be used as a form of preventative treatment too! Many people are beginning to use IV therapy to lower the risk of illnesses. With IV therapy, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients are quickly circulated through your bloodstream and delivered to cells where they are immediately available for use. There is no waiting for the nutrients to clear the digestive tract and liver!
Who cannot get an IV infusion?
If you are under 18 years of age, have generally poor health, are undergoing chemotherapy, have a history of heart disease, experience uncontrolled hypertension, or have had an organ transplant, you should avoid IV infusions. It’s also important to inform our staff if you have kidney disease, active liver disease, and/or any allergies or intolerances.
What are the risks and side effects of IV hydration therapy?
The risks of IV therapy may include mild discomfort, bruising, and pain at the site of insertion. There may also be inflammation of the vein used for insertion.
What kind of preparation is needed before an IV infusion?

In general there is no special preparation needed. However, we advise against consuming alcoholic beverages within four hours of an infusion.

How often should I get an infusion?
It depends on the infusion–some patients get an IV up to twice a week! You have the option to do weekly, biweekly, or monthly treatments. We recommend getting an IV when you feel the need to boost your energy levels, travel frequently, or just want to get back to your normal productive self. You may see dramatic effects after the first IV depending on your nutritional hydration status.
Where are your vitamins manufactured?
In the USA! Our vitamins are of the highest quality in their purest forms.
Are there any limitations after the infusion?

No, but we recommend avoiding alcohol for the  remainder of the day.

How will I feel after the infusion?

Most people notice increased energy. Some people report a vitamin taste in their mouth and/or a strong vitamin smell in their urine–but that is totally normal. You may see dramatic effects after the first IV depending on your nutritional hydration status.

Why can’t I just take the vitamins orally?

Because supplements taken orally have to pass through the GI tract. Your body is only able to absorb up to 20% of the nutritional value. IV hydration therapy delivers fluids mixed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. This enables the body to absorb almost 100% of the nutrients it needs to thrive!

Is there a doctor present?

thrIVe Drip Solutions has a licensed physician, our Medical Director, who oversees the operations of IV administration. One of our professional, licensed, and skilled IV specialists will administer and monitor you while receiving your infusion.
